Awards and Achievements

Keyboard Grades 1 – 4  Since 2002 I have been learning the piano and keyboard learning to play many songs and compositions from books under tuition. I have grown steadily as a musician, passing exams the most recent was December 2012 in which I passed my Grade 4 examination. Each exam has been a significant challenge and after each one I have improved on my rhythm and musical skills.

Student of the Year Nominee 2012 & 2013 I have been nominated for the student of the year awards at FCOT for my dedication and hard work throughout my time there. Being a nominee hasboosted my confidence in my design work and in my self.

Baden Powell Award 2010 I have been a member of the Girl Guides since 2006. I worked within a team to organise activities for the guides and carry out each one successfully. This award then allowedus all to become the 1st Ash Vale Senior Section founders. This badge / award helped me to gain even more team work skills and organisational skills.

D of E Bronze 2009 I worked within a group to navigate around a chosen route around the Surrey  Hills. We all took turns in using a compass and a map to work out our position and the best route to take to arrive at many check points. We also worked within a group to put up tents, cook, and wash up our equipment. This was a valuable experience for me as I learnt team working skills and basic navigation skills.

Interests and Hobbies

I am a friendly, charismatic and enthusiastic person with a good work ethic. I enjoy many activities such as being part of the Circus Skills Society at the University of Portsmouth. UPSOCS for short. Here I have learnt how to juggle, and I have brushed up on my poi spinning skills. In the past I have enjoyed Horse Riding, reading, knitting, being a girl guide and playing the keyboard / piano, as well as learning to play the guitar. Now I have found a love for good design and learning new things. Recently, I have been involved in running a Circus Skills Workshop with UPSOCS, in teaching a local scout group circus skills. This was highly enjoyable and a good experience in working with a mix of age groups. I have also been involved in many performances, some including fire spinning.  As well as meeting new people, I have taken part in Magic the Gathering tournaments, learnt a little in how to sword fight and so far, I have really enjoyed my experience at university.
