Messy Fun Time seems to be a reoccurring thing on a Friday…… (maybe it’s because I have no lectures on this day!)
I am still experimenting with mediums with my promotion and employability unit, this time my adventures took me to the Screen Printing room, to experiment with my logo. The effects were awesome, and I cannot wait to scan these in to enhance the colours!
(I may already have my favourite!!!!)
Working on my brush control as an experiment, for this style of letter. I am continuing this feel of experimentation and using mixed media to produce my ident for my promo unit. I feel this is going well, my hand is becoming steadier. I still require more practice however, and possibly to try out other colours to experiment with.
My aim with this is to get the best curves possible (I might need to go bigger for this) but the small size is good to practice with. I don’t want to overwork this, but I do want to get it as close to being right for me, as possible.
Wish me luck!
Something that came to mind this evening.
In my life I’ve had to be strong mentally. Now I realise that inside, I am well and truly alive. I feel like there’s this fire that can’t be quenched. And that’s what’s driving me to my goal. I’m definitely going to need this fire to keep me going in the next year. It’s not going to be easy, and I hope it’ll guide me somewhat to success!
Just had a screen printing induction, at uni. Really enjoyed the experience and I got absolutely covered in the ink!!!
Just goes to show, you really have to get down and dirty with your work.
This evening I have been in a drawing mood. So, using photoshop and my mighty wacom tablet, I have created this majestic creature, the Spirit Dragon of the Water Element! (Or as that’s what I like to imagine it to be!)
I found a drawing of a raven / crow that I had done during my college years. I was really pleased with this drawing and it was featured in a poster idea for one of my units during my first year. Now I have found it again, it has been in my mind that it would make an excellent tattoo as it is. However, I have been fascinated with watercolour style tattoos because they are just wonderful, and full of individuality that no other tattoo style has already. (Don’t get me wrong, other styles of tattooing are amazing and have individuality, it’s just my personal views is that no watercolour tattoo is the same, and no ordinary tattoo is the same) It’s new, modern and perfect for what I would have tattooed on to my skin.
So, I dug out some tracing paper, and my watercolours and I sat and played with blues and purples. This is the result.
If I were to get this tattooed, the outlines I would like to be thinner, bolder and darker. The shades of blue and purple I would love to be brighter, and more true.
Now the other question is where would I have it?
I have thought about my upper back, with the wings branching out onto my shoulders. I have also thought about a smaller version for my wrist or hip.
