Catch up…

Hello, long time no blog?

Ah, it’s  been a crazy few months since my last post in April…

I passed my driving test finally, had some mighty fun with my Vauxhall Corsa etc.

Life at Exclaimer is pretty good, it’s still going well and everyday is different still, there isn’t a dull moment at all, I’ve learned an awful lot about my self and even scared at how well I handle things.

A few projects that I have been working on recently, have been going well, I designed a logo for a friend – which will be in the next post when I get round to doing so, I have sort of started a poster project that is typography based, but so far it hasn’t progressed any further than two…

Other things, I have been crocheting A LOT, even learned a new stitch called ‘The Crocodile’ stitch, it’s really pretty and good fun to do.

I am thinking of using a failed logo design, that was meant to be for a client ages ago, and re-vamping this to my own use, maybe even start a Crochet / Crafty blog / website … or something.

I’ve also picked up the Ukulele… using an app called Yousician to learn it, it’s quite a cute little instrument.

This year’s Christmas cards are already being planned out, mentally, going to do some DIY Screen printing with Embroidery Hoops and Screen Printing Mesh, that I purchased from Hunt The Moon.

Some exciting blogs coming up soon, keep watching this space!

Major Project in Graphic Design | Familiar Phrases and their Nautical Origins

Behold, my Major Project in Graphic Design!!!

Familiar Phrases and their Nautical Origins!!! 20 postcards of 2 different dimensions, 10 posters A2, AND a wooden box!!! The packaging has a screen printed logo, for the project and each print, shows a phrase, what it means today from several people, and the origin on the back, in a postcard format. The posters, are just plain on the back but the print from each postcard is the main attraction.

Lots of hard work, blood, sweat and tears it is finally finished!!!!

Coffee Cup Doodle | Poster Idea | Interesting Texture

10731172_10205303452850075_4228526411056418974_nAfter a fantastic opportune lecture, by Naomi Games daughter and archivist of Abram Games, her father, I doodled this rough ‘P’ and some words that came to mind on a coffee cup. Now if I can get away with this in my poster design, as it’s meant to be a 2 colour print, then this would be an interesting texture to use…. might run it by my lecturers to see what they think.
I love getting all experimental, I think it will make me a better designer and literally leaping out of the comfort of the computer screen.  The textures of the coffee cup, like this would make an interesting print which could, add a level of innovation and intrigue to my design.
